The OMA’s Section on General and Family Practice (SGFP) represents the over 9,000 family physicians who provide trusted advice and expert care to patients and their families in Ontario. We are proud of our profession and work to maintain its high standards with an uncompromised commitment to our patients and our communities.

The SGFP has launched a media campaign to raise awareness of the implications to changes taking place in Ontario's healthcare system. The campaign serves to educate patients on the unique and important role family physicians play in the delivery of quality healthcare and raises questions concerning patient safety, doctor shortages and the need for government consultation with the most educated frontline health care providers: family doctors.
